Fever in the Funkhouse is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Motown bassist James Jamerson through the exploration of his immense body of recorded work. Every recording discussed here has been carefully researched, transcribed, and analyzed. Our goal is to serve as an educational resource to those interested in digging deeper into Jamerson’s Motown style. The output here is a direct result of my graduate research at the University of British Columbia and, more significantly,  through the past 15 years spent, listening, transcribing, playing, and studying Jamerson’s basslines. To put it mildly, I’m obsessed. If you have questions or want to discuss anything Jamerson, I’m here for you.
